In Qi Gong we often start a class with taking a moment to feel our feet on the floor. The acupuncture point Kidney 1, also known as Yongquan or Bubbling Spring, is located on the sole of our feet and is said to connect us to the earth. You can massage this point, either with your fingers or by using a tennis ball or a spiky ball in order to activate the point. If you are feeling spaced out, or feel worried or anxious it will help to bring the energy back down to your body. You can achieve the same effect by bringing your awareness to your feet on the floor, really bring your attention to the sensation of the toes, the sole and heel on the ground.
